The VOCAL IN NEED project is developing an online and mobile training offer for staff working with incoming migrants, refugees and foreigners and general:

– Police officers and border control

– Trainers and coaches of integration courses

– Professional working in shelters and residential centres

As a first step training needs have been carefully analysed in a survey among around 200 professionals Results will be discussed at a project meeting in Rzeszow, Poland on 8-9 May2018 and used as a starting point of the development of the learning programme.

EMPROVE – A social innovation with the power of games

Last week the EMPROVE team met in Göttingen/ Germany, reviewing the feedback from testing the EMPROVE innovative platform in six EU countries! In the EMPROVE project, an online learning platform for survivors of domestic violence is developed. In this platform, a game based approach is used that gives participants the chance to reflect on their learning and to motivate them to engage in learning over a longer period of time. The team used the meeting to update the online products – a process which is coordinated by die Berater®.  The official launch of the platform will approach soon.

COME IN – Competences in Enterprises on Integration – is a two-year-project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, which contributes to the efficient integration of refugees in the European labour market by enhancing employers’ competences to integrate individuals with experience of displacement. Am 6. April fand die Eröffnung der neuen Ausstellung im Rahmen des EU-Projektes NETWORLD in Schloss Artstetten statt. 190 TeilnehmerInnen, allen voran Alt-BP Heinz Fischer und Gattin folgten der Einladung zur feierlichen Eröffnung.

Packend und faktentreu wird im Gedenkjahr 2018 Geschichte durch das Schlüsselloch gezeigt um gleichzeitig die BesucherInnen zu konfrontieren.

Warum bleibt das Auto des Thronfolgers in Sarajevo genau 2,5 Meter vor dem Attentäter stehen? Wie sieht der Kriegsalltag aus? Warum findet sich der Name Hohenberg am Anfang und am Ende der Monarchie?

Eine mobile Ausstellungs-App (networld.dieberater.com) beschreitet neue Wege der Vermittlung von Geschichte. Diese wurde von die Berater^® entwickelt und umgesetzt, da hier die 3 Kernkompetenzen des Unternehmens perfekt vereint wurden konnten: Weiterbildung, Mediengestaltung und EU-Projekte.

Begleitend werden in Kooperation mit dem Österreichischen Studienzentrum für Frieden und Konfliktlösung, friedenspädagogische Workshops für Jugendliche zum Attentat und Ersten Weltkrieg angeboten. Die Entwicklung der Workshop-Konzepts und die Schulung der durchführenden KulturvermittlerInnen erfolgte in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Österreichischen Studienzentrum für Frieden und Konfliktlösung, Stadtschlaining.

VIM at a glance

VIM stands for Vitality Interventions for Migrants and is a project co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme. VIM builds on the experience gained in “Health Box”, a very successful LLP-funded project (www.healthbox.eu). Health Box developed micro-learning units on crucial healthy-lifestyle topics that were integrated in other training contexts (e.g. labour market training). This approach shall now be transferred to the target group of refugees and migrants.

Staying in good health, adopting healthy life styles and being informed about the health system of the host country as well as having confidence to make use of it are pre-requisites of successful integration of refugees and newly arrived migrants.

However, there is a lack of consideration in the existing integration programmes of the specific challenges migrants are facing with regard to health issues. In order to fill this gap, a toolbox with small, ready-to-use health education units will be developed by VIM, which will help educators to support migrants to stay in good health, adopt healthy life styles and be informed about the health system of the host country as well as build confidence to make full use of it.

What VIM wants to achieve

VIM wants to promote and improve the health among migrants by improving the level of information on health related topics and the health system of the host country. To this end, the project will develop, pilot and disseminate ready-made, easy- to use micro-learning and information units which educators working with the target group in integration courses, language learning courses, labour market trainings and social and educational activities other subjects can easily integrate into their teaching. Special focus will be placed on family healthcare and on the gender dimension.

First steps

On 11./12. December 2017 the VIM project was officially inaugurated and partners met in Göttingen, Germany, for the kick-off meeting. The main purpose of the meeting was to get to know to each other and to plan in detail the first project activities. The partners discussed in detail the approach of the stocktaking and needs analysis phase and brainstormed possible topics for the micro-learning units that will be developed. Apart from healthy lifestyle related topics also topics such as home sickness, depression, intercultural reflection about body and health as well as trustbuilding in the healthcare system of the host country were listed. Currently the long list of possible topics is being clustered and will be further consolidated by means of expert interviews in the partner countries.

Erneuerbare Energien haben den Sprung aus der Nische geschafft und sind zu einem wichtigen Wirtschaftsfaktor geworden. Die Wirtschaftsbereiche rund um erneuerbare Energien wachsen stark und gewinnbringend. In vielen europäischen Ländern fehlt es jedoch noch an qualifizierten MitarbeiterInnen.
