How can we unfold the potential of technical innovation in the care sector?

How can we unfold the potential of technical innovation in the care sector?

Digital technologies and assistive systems can significantly relieve the burden of care and improve the quality of life of older people. However, in a first step, careworkers need to acquire the necessary digital competences and IT-skills in order to benefit from the technical innovation in their daily work. That’s where the DiMicare project comes in. Check out the project flyer to see what we planned in order to meet the current demand for digital upskilling!

Register for the EKT final conference

Smart Technologies for Innovation in Teacher Training

The EKT Project started in November 2019. Due to the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, its duration had to be extended by half a year until April 2023.

A lot of work has been done by the project partners: They carried out preliminary research, developed a methodological framework, produce several versions of the EKT Platform, tested and improved it in two piloting cycles in Austria, England, Ireland, Portugal and Spain, and implemented a wide range of dissemination and promotion activities in the education and research sector.

In the two remaining months, the project results are now being polished, finalised and proudly presented to the project’s target audiences.

Register for the EKT Final Conference and have a look at the EKT Newsletter.

Curious Curation Conference Recap

Curious Curation Conference Recap

Online Event and Final Conference for the Critical Curation and Collaboration in Learning project Cur8

On Thursday, 9 March, 2023 we had the pleasure of hosting the Curious Curation Conference online from our headquarters in Vienna. The conference aimed to explore the topic of learning content curation for upskilling and reskilling, and the critical digital competences needed by educators for this task. We were delighted to welcome more than 50 learning and development professionals from all over Europe and we were particularly happy to see many educators from Ukraine join us, too.

The Cur8 project team was on-site to present the context of learning content curation as well as some of the material that has been created as part of the project. We also used innovative tools such as Mentimeter and Slido to allow participants to actively engage in the conference. Moreover, we were proud to announce the public launch of the Cur8 Learning Experience Platform and Toolbox and encourage our readers to take a look and explore the many resources available on the platform.

We would like to thank all the presenters and attendees for making the event a success!

Those who missed out on the conference, a documentation of the conference including all slides is available via the conference padlet.

Don’t forget to connect with the Cur8 project on LinkedIn to stay up to date.

The Cur8 project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. The Curious Curation online conference is organized by the Cur8 Consortium and hosted by die Berater®.

Launch of the MOVE UP project

Launch of the MOVE UP project

The MOVE UP project consortium held their Kick-off meeting in Perugia, Italy on February 6th and 7th 2023, marking the beginning of our exciting journey!

The MOVE UP project will develop a flexible and quality upskilling pathway for unemployed or inactive mothers with low qualifications who need/are willing to (re)access education and/or labour market, offering the opportunity of assessing, validating and further developing their prior learning, by enhancing the competences they gain because of their role of parent.

This approach offers the opportunity of discovering, assessing, recognising, possibly validating, and further developing the competences they acquired thanks to the motherhood experience, therefore mostly through informal learning and daily activities. The outcome of this process is

thus the opportunity to make value out of these competences to facilitate their participation in training and in the labour market, and as active citizens.

The focus of this path for upskilling is on the Personal, Social and Learning to learn competence (PSL), that has already proven to be an effective driver for developing other key competences for lifelong learning. They have been selected, together with the basic competences, as it includes several skills that women acquired or further develop while becoming mothers, as better adapting to change, coping with uncertainty, getting involved, managing tasks, solving problems.

The specific objectives of the MOVE UP project include the following:

  • Prototyping an innovative outreach strategy and guidance measures which can overcome gender bias and stereotypes
  • Allowing the identification and self-assessment of their Personal, Social and Learning to Learn competence (PSL)
  • Developing, testing and piloting innovative and integrated tailored learning provisions based on the individual needs for upskilling and designed accordingly to existing frameworks
  • Allowing the recognition and paving the way for validation of both PSL competence and basic competences
  • Providing a permanent framework to ALE stakeholders for setting up effective and renewed policies and provisions, thus contributing to a more gender equal labour market freed from stereotypes related to maternity role

Stay tuned for more updates on MOVE UP!
