Perspectives from space

Surrounded by models and replica of space vehicles, satellites and other artefacts documenting Russia’s space record the SUFOGIS partners met in Moscow in IKI, the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, to discuss the next steps in the project.

SUFOGIS aims at strengthening university-business relations in the sustainable use of Geo Information Systems and Remote Sensing in Forestry. Higher education staff and students of forestry and related subjects are trained and learn from EU achievements.

Online Workshops, a summer school and a study visit in Thessaloniki have already taken place, and similar activities are planned for summer 2020.

VIM Newsletter 5 – October 2019

VIM stands for Vitality Interventions for Migrants and is a 24-month project that aims to promote information on a healthy lifestyle among migrants and increase their confidence in using the health system of the receiving country.

By this, the project aims to increase the European integration of migrants.

Staying in good health, adopting healthy life styles and being informed about the health system of the host country as well as having confidence to make use of it are pre-requisites for successful integration of refugees and newly arrived migrants into their European host societies.

Final Conference – Health Literacy as a key to integration

This was the motto of the final conference hosted by our Greek partner KMOP on 10th of October, 2019. More than 50 people from different countries and contexts took part in the conference. Their background ranged from health professionals and trainers to health project developers.

NE(W)AVE launches renewable energy training programme in Italy and Spain

The first NE(W)AVE training on renewable energies in Palermo has successfully ended. During this 2-week training hosted by St.H, the company expert in this sector based in Palermo, participants from Greece and Denmark developed their technical competences on renewable energies through face-to-face trainings, workshops and visits to different renewable energy plants and firms and through the constant support of 3 company mentors at St.H. NE(W)AVE aims to create, test and implement a comprehensive learning model for future professionals in renewable energies.  Read more

European shared experiences to support and develop the IRENE innovative approach to adults facing difficulties in learning foreign languages.

IRENE project partners have developed a Comparative Desk Research to analyze the topics of foreign language learning and learning difficulties of adults in their countries. The authors have examined the current literature about the needs of the target group and have collected experiences in the application of E- learning methodologies. The focus has been laid on the needs of foreign language teachers and trainers and a common basis has been established, leading to the next step of the project: development of innovative approach to adults facing difficulties in learning foreign languages.

Europäischer Erfahrungsaustausch zur Unterstützung und Entwicklung des innovativen IRENE-Ansatzes für Erwachsene mit Schwierigkeiten beim Erlernen von Fremdsprachen

Die IRENE-Projektpartner haben eine vergleichende Literaturrecherche („Comparative Desk Research“) durchgeführt, um die Themen Fremdsprachenlernen und Lernschwierigkeiten von Erwachsenen in ihren Ländern zu analysieren. Die Autoren haben die aktuelle Literatur über die Bedürfnisse der Zielgruppe untersucht und Erfahrungen in der Anwendung von E-Learning-Methoden gesammelt. Es wurde der Schwerpunkt auf die Bedürfnisse von FremdsprachenlehrerInnen und -trainerInnen gelegt sowie eine gemeinsame Grundlage geschaffen, die zum nächsten Schritt des Projekts führt: Die Entwicklung eines innovativen Ansatzes für Erwachsene mit Schwierigkeiten beim Erlernen von Fremdsprachen.

Project end of the EU-funded ERASMUS + project “COME IN – Competences in Enterprises on Integration”

After 2 years of successful operation, the EU-funded ERASMUS+ project “COME IN – Competences in Enterprises on Integration” is now coming to an end. Together with our European project partners, we can look back on two highly productive years: a comprehensive range of face-to-face workshops and e-learning material was created to train and support key personnel in the field of refugee vocational integration, as well as free access to the online area and thus also to an online community that enables interaction between employers on a platform where learning materials, information and experiences can be exchanged. We are proud of this success!

Projektende des EU-geförderten ERASMUS+ Projekts “COME IN – Competences in Enterprises on Integration”

Nach 2 Jahren erfolgreicher Laufzeit geht das EU-geförderte ERASMUS+ Projekt “COME IN – Competences in Enterprises on Integration” zu Ende. Zusammen mit unseren europäischen ProjektpartnerInnen dürfen wir auf zwei äußerst produktive Jahre zurückblicken: Es wurden ein umfassendes Angebot für Präsenzworkshops und e-learning Material zur Schulung und Unterstützung von Schlüsselkräften im Bereich der beruflichen Integration von Flüchtlingen geschaffen sowie ein freier Zugang zum Online-Bereich und somit auch zu einer Online-Community, die die Interaktion zwischen ArbeitgeberInnen auf einer Plattform ermöglicht, auf der Lernmaterialien, Informationen und Erfahrungen ausgetauscht werden können. Wir sind stolz auf diesen Erfolg!

Projektabschluss Vocal in Need: Tools für gelingende Kommunikation in der Integration

Mit einer sehr gut besuchten Abschlusskonferenz in Dresden ging das von der Europäischen Kommission geförderte Erasmus+ Projekt Vocal in Need zu Ende. Das Projekt richtete sich an zwei sehr unterschiedliche Zielgruppen: Polizei und Sicherheitskräfte auf der einen Seite, sowie Trainerinnen, Beraterinnen und andere Fachkräfte in der Integrationsarbeit andererseits. Beiden Berufsgruppen gemeinsam ist die Notwendigkeit, in ihrem Berufsalltag erfolgreich mit MigrantInnen, Flüchtlingen und generell Menschen aus anderen Ländern kommunizieren zu müssen. Vocal in Need stellt hierzu zwei unterstützende Tools zu Verfügung.

• 5 E-Learning-Module, basierend auf typischen beruflichen Situationen, in denen immer wieder kulturelle und kommunikative Herausforderungen auftreten. Die Module dienen der sprachlichen Bewältigung dieser Situationen und bieten überdies interkulturelle Informationen zur Sensibilisierung du Konfliktvermeidung.
• Eine Mobilen Sprachassistenten mit hilfreichen Vokabeln und Redewendungen

Beide Projektprodukte sind frei zugänglich.
