How TUTOR and EU Initiatives Foster Equality and Inclusion Across Europe

According to Article 14 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, everyone has the right to education and access to vocational and continuing training.

The European Union places great emphasis on multiculturalism, language acquisition, and the exchange of learners and educators.

These priorities were reaffirmed at the European Education Summit 2023, where the role of teachers and investment in high-quality educators were highlighted as crucial for Europe’s future.

The European Education Strategy ET 2030 aims to strengthen teachers’ skills, promote equal opportunities and inclusion, and reduce school dropout rates. Teachers are expected to demonstrate not only subject competence but also relationship-building skills and conflict management abilities when dealing with students, parents, and colleagues.

This is where the TUTOR project comes in. TUTOR is a European Teacher Academies project that aims to improve equal opportunities and inclusion in secondary education through teacher training that enables them to provide targeted support and individualised guidance to students. Over the next few weeks, the TUTOR partners will submit proposals for national policy recommendations, discuss them with experts and finalise them.

In a further step, the national recommendations will then be compared in roundtables with experts, discussed and condensed into European policy recommendations. If you are interested in taking part in this important debate or would like more information, please contact us at: f.steffen@dieberater.com.

EXTOR – Exploring tourism trends in each partner country

Exploring tourism trends in each partner country

To assess the current tourism status in each partner country, we employed a three-step approach:

1. Desk Research: We began with extensive research within our own country, analysing official statistics, reports, and publications to understand current tourism trends and challenges.

2. Focus Groups: Next, we conducted focus groups with VET providers to gather qualitative insights and diverse perspectives.

3. Interviews: Finally, we carried out interviews with rural entrepreneurs to gain deeper insights and formulate comprehensive recommendations for tourism development.

After completing these steps, we now have a detailed understanding of the tourism status in each country. The individual country reports are then combined to create a comprehensive international report, providing a holistic view of the global tourism landscape. This report helps identify common challenges and opportunities, facilitating the development of coordinated strategies to enhance European tourism.

WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?

The project aims to cater to the educational needs of youngindividuals by offering e-learning opportunities to develop theirprofessional, entrepreneurial, and digital skills within the culturaland creative industries.

It utilizes creative and innovativetechnologies to accomplish this goal. The primary focus is reachingout to youth who have limited access to educational opportunitiesor are unemployed (NEETs).

However, the project is designed to beapplicable and beneficial to the broader youth populationinterested in pursuing education and employment in this specificfield.

WHAT HAVE WE DONE SO FAR?

Our journey has been marked by significant milestones and collaborative efforts. Over the past few months, the consortium has made considerable progress in developing and refining the educational materials essential to the EPICURIOUS project.

One of our key achievements has been the completion of the pilot phase for Work Package 2 (WP2). During this phase, we conducted real-world testing of our educational materials with selected youth and educators from our partner countries. This hands-on approach allowed us to gather valuable feedback and insights directly from our target audience.

We are also proud to announce that the EPICURIOUS Personalised Skills Wheel platform is now finished and ready to be tested. This innovative tool is designed to tailor educational experiences to individual needs and preferences, offering a unique approach to learning that allows users to identify and develop specific skills relevant to their interests within the cultural and creative industries.

WHATS NEXT?

Looking ahead, the EPICURIOUS consortium is preparing for the third Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) in Prague. This meeting will be a crucial opportunity to review the outcomes of the pilot phase, integrate the feedback received, and finalize the Entrepreneurship Skills Manual.

We are also excited to begin the development of the multilingual platform and plan for its final release after the piloting phase. This platform will provide access to our resources in multiple languages, ensuring broader accessibility and inclusivity. Additionally, the implementation of the open badges system is in progress, which will allow learners to validate their acquired skills and knowledge, adding significant value to their educational journey.

The Personalised Skills Wheel will enhance the overall educational experience by providing customized learning paths that ensure each learner can achieve their full potential.

TAC Newsletter 4

TAC Newsletter 4

The TAC consortium met for the last time in Cologne on the 12th and 13th of March 2024 to discuss the final steps of the project, as well as its sustainability in the future. As the project draws to a close, it was time to share the results of the last two years with our target groups and the wider community.

Over the course of the project, we have made significant strides in raising awareness about ADHD and promoting the inclusion of children with ADHD in educational and formative activities. Our consortium has worked to develop resources, training materials, and strategies that educators and caregivers can use to support these children effectively.

To ensure the impact of our project, all project partners organised information events in their countries. These events were designed not only to disseminate the findings and achievements of the TAC project but also to engage with local communities and stakeholders.

Attendees had the opportunity to discuss the challenges and successes they have encountered in their own experiences with children with ADHD. As we reflect on the journey of the TAC project, we are very grateful to everyone who has followed our work and contributed to its success. Your support and involvement have been crucial in achieving our goals and making a positive difference in the lives of children with ADHD.

Looking ahead, we are committed to maintaining the momentum we have built. We encourage you to continue engaging with our work by visiting our website, where you can find a lot of information, resources, and updates on our ongoing efforts to support ADHD inclusion in education.

Thank you once again for your dedication and support. The journey does not end here, and we look forward to continuing this important work with your help.
