MEGA – Launch of Newsletter 4

MEGA – Launch of Newsletter 4

The Final Conference of the project took place online and it involved people from different European countries: it was an important moment of confrontation and information, during which the consortium was able to reap the fruits sown during these two years. Participants were enthusiastic about both of the content of the MEGA training modules –
mega.dieberater.com – and the gamifiedlearning methodology, especially about the creation of dark stories. During the conference, participants also had the opportunity to participate in three different workshops:

  • Workshop 1: How to spot and unmask fake news?
  • Workshop 2: EU-Myths: Ways to embed the topic in informal learning activities
  • Workshop 3: The benefits of quiz-based training and playing the MEGA game (visiting the MEGA platform and playing the quizzes to unmask fake-news on EU, as well as, to work in groups and create dark stories)

Welcome to GROOVE!

Welcome to GROOVE!

The ERASMUS+ project GROOVE (DiGital tRansfOrmatiOn of the Vet sEctor) has just started. VET is an integral part of education providing lifelong learning systems equipping individuals with skills responding to the needs of the economy but also with skills important for personal development and active citizenship. The European Commission emphasizes the need of VET to become more fit to the digital age since VET will play a crucial role in helping people to find jobs after the Coronavirus crisis.

Therefore, the GROOVE project aims to build the capacity of VET providers/trainers to digitize, modernize their practices and build the low-skilled adults’ digital literacy skills and fill the gap between the demand for, and supply of, a digitally competent workforce through adjusting the VET sector to become more resilient to rapid technological and labour market changes

Culturally sensitive care: I-CARE project piloting starts

Culturally sensitive care: I-CARE project piloting starts

The training materials for the project “I-Care – Culturally Sensitive Care in Social and Health Care” are ready – so nothing stands in the way of the test run! In cooperation with Volkshilfe Upper Austria and Senecura, we are piloting the training materials on the topic of intercultural competence in social and health care.

What does cultural diversity mean in social and health care? What challenges does it bring with it, what opportunities can organisations and professionals use for their everyday work?  The I-CARE training includes eight learning modules on various topics of intercultural competence: How does cultural awareness develop, what pitfalls lurk in intercultural communication? What do I need to know about different traditions and customs that can affect everyday care?

With the health facility Senecura and Volkshilfe Oberösterreich, we were able to win partners for the piloting of the I-Care trainings in Austria. From January to the beginning of February, training sessions will take place in which professionals from senior care and mobile care will train their intercultural competences.

The I-CARE project team is looking forward to an interesting exchange and feedback on the developed materials!
