The main aim is to strengthen the competences of teachers and VET professionals in the design of e-learning. Culturally sensitive care: I-CARE project piloting starts

Culturally sensitive care: I-CARE project piloting starts

The training materials for the project “I-Care – Culturally Sensitive Care in Social and Health Care” are ready – so nothing stands in the way of the test run! In cooperation with Volkshilfe Upper Austria and Senecura, we are piloting the training materials on the topic of intercultural competence in social and health care.

What does cultural diversity mean in social and health care? What challenges does it bring with it, what opportunities can organisations and professionals use for their everyday work?  The I-CARE training includes eight learning modules on various topics of intercultural competence: How does cultural awareness develop, what pitfalls lurk in intercultural communication? What do I need to know about different traditions and customs that can affect everyday care?

With the health facility Senecura and Volkshilfe Oberösterreich, we were able to win partners for the piloting of the I-Care trainings in Austria. From January to the beginning of February, training sessions will take place in which professionals from senior care and mobile care will train their intercultural competences.

The I-CARE project team is looking forward to an interesting exchange and feedback on the developed materials!

Integration project MILE on the home straight

Integration project MILE on the home straight

At the end of November, the project MILE- Migrants Integration in the Labour market in Europe, funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund of the European Union (AMIF), will be completed. die Berater® stepped in as a new Austrian partner in the transnational project about a year ago.

The project team in the Innsbruck branch of die Berater® took on the task of developing and implementing a programme for 130 migrants that included skills assessment, soft skills training, digital literacy training, job application training and internship placement, working closely with regional integration stakeholders and businesses. Not an easy undertaking in times of pandemic and lockdowns and only a short time window due to the project’s subsequent entry.

In the end, these requirements were successfully mastered, not least due to the intensive cooperation with business, labour market and integration institutions and NGOs in Tyrol. So successfully that now numerous potential participants had to be turned away due to the end of the project.

The project results will be presented at a closing event in Innsbruck on 26 November 2021 and discussed with all interested parties in the context of the integration system in Tyrol.

A direct insight into the experiences of the migrant MILE participants with the Austrian labour market is provided by two Videos we produced.

Creative Virtual Cooperation – Become part of the European initiative!

Creative Virtual Cooperation – Become part of the European initiative!

The EU projects “Creative Change” and “The ONE project” both aim to make cooperation and communication in EU-projects more creative, innovative and thus more sustainable.

If you would like to bring a breath of fresh air into your project management, subscribe to our newsletter  or join our community on LinkedIn.

die Berater is coordinator of the project partnership Creative Change  –  a mixture of adult education organisations and culture-creating and mediating institutions. We want to inspire each other and collect and test new approaches for the management of EU projects. The motto is: Moving away from a strict process orientation towards a human-centred approach! Make room for design thinking and the increased use of creativity techniques in different phases of project work!

Creative Change invites EU project managers from all over Europe to join us on our common journey towards more creativity and innovation. In the project, we are collecting different tools and methodologies and we develop an online Creativity Space to explore and learn about them.

Start thinking outside the project management-box and learn more at creative-change!

Why are intercultural competences so important in healthcare?

Why are intercultural competences so important in healthcare?

In everyday care, people from different cultures come together. In their daily work, healthcare staff often have to master challenging situations.

Especially in intercultural encounters, it is different knowledge, different attitudes, reservations, etc. that lead to misunderstandings.

In the Erasmus+ project I-CARE we are developing various materials on the topic of intercultural/transcultural care and making them available to all those working in social and care professions.

Through more intercultural competence, nurses gain more confidence in dealing with diverse patients/client groups. Knowing how to react correctly and concrete tips for dealing with delicate situations contribute to better mutual understanding and thus reduce stress in everyday work. In the end, everyone benefits – patients, staff and not least the entire organisation.

Invitition to a Webinar about Europhobia

Invitition to a Webinar about Europhobia

We would like to invite you to our MEGA course – An informal and playful way to challenge Europhobia in youth work. The MEGA course is part of the EU project MEGA that has been implemented since February 2020 by six partners from six countries. The course has been developed by the project team over the last months and will now be piloted across Europe. For more information on the project please visit our website: mega.bupnet.eu

The course addresses youth workers, trainers, facilitators and other relevant stakeholders that offer services and training for young people.

The aim of the course is to enable the participants to implement an innovative approach at empowering young people to critically analyse Europhobic distortions of the European Union and to learn to act as “European ambassadors”, i.e. to convincingly spread realistic images of the EU among their peers. Youth workers will learn to identify and unmask Europhobic myths, apply quiz-based learning and produce learning quizzes with and for young people.

We start on 15 June at 17 CET with an introductory webinar. Here you will have the opportunity to get to know the project team and the other participants. We would also like to introduce you to the course concept and launch the e-learning phase. The course will then take place virtually – unfortunately not in Palermo due to Corona. Course days are June 5th, 8th, and 13th, 2021, from 10.00 to 12.30 and 14.00 to 16.30 CET.

If you are interested to join the webinar or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at bridgestoeurope@dieberater.com!
